Since its establishment in 2024, the "Global Award for Innovation in Educational Research Methods" has been held twice. With its rigorous academic standards and broad international perspective, the award has garnered enthusiastic responses and widespread recognition from the global educational research community, effectively facilitating the strategic transition of China's educational research from "application and importation" to "independent innovation."Building upon the extensive impact and rich achievements of the previous two editions, and with the aim of continuously empowering paradigm shifts and cross-cultural understanding in the field of educational research, further stimulating in-depth dialogue at the methodological level, and helping the discipline of education flourish through diverse mutual learning, we now officially launch the recommendation and evaluation process for the third edition of the Award. We warmly invite active participation and nominations from the global educational research community!
I. Award Setting
The Global Awards for Innovation in Educational Research Methods is jointly hosted by East China Normal University and the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. It is awarded annually, with five winners selected each year. The prize amount is RMB 20,000 per winner(pre-tax).
Ⅱ. Scope of the Award
The recipients of the award are not limited by nationality or discipline, but must meet the following conditions:
1.They have made outstanding contributions to the theory and/or application of education research methods and；
2.Have corresponding representative works (books or papers);
3. They should be researchers who are still alive at the time of award.
III. Assessment Methods
1. A Jury of the Global Awards for Innovation in Education Research Methods will be established to evaluate the candidates and their achievements. For the sake of fairness, members of the Jury shall not participate in the selection process.
2. The results will be formally announced globally, and the award ceremony will be held during the annual FEER.The organizing committee will cover the travel expenses for awardees to and from Shanghai to attend the award ceremony.
IV. Recommendation Process
1. The nomination of candidates for the award is open to domestic and foreign colleagues in the field of education. Each recommending institution or individual can nominate up to 2 candidates, with a maximum of 1 scholar from the nominating institution. Self-nominations are not accepted at this time.
2. The recommending institution or individual shall fill in the “Nomination Form for the Global Awards for Innovation in Education Research Methods” (available at http://feer.ecnu.edu.cn/); at the same time, provide the representative works/papers of the candidates (the original, photocopies, or electronic versions, etc., can be provided in any form); the nomination form, together with the relevant attachments, shall be emailed to the award secretariat with the subject “Nomination for the Global Awards for Innovation in Education Research Methods” at committeeofgaierm@163.com.
3. Acceptance period: Submission deadline: June 30, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.
